Both my parents became sick and they thought it was a stomach bug. My dad was so dehydrated he fell in the floor. My sister who is a nurse carried him to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. His oxygen was 85 so they said he probably had the virus. My Daddy was so sick he asked her to take him to the ER. She couldn’t go in with him so she had to drop him off.Â
Later that day we spoke to him with my Boys and he was asked  as feeling great. He told us he was feeling better than he had in days. My husband is a Lutheran Pastor and had the whole district praying for him. When I was telling him … he told me boog. That’s his nickname for me.
Gods got him in great care with a great dr and a great nurse and to take care of My Mom and sister and the Boys and my husband and me. He told us all he loved us and would see us soon.Â
He kept saying he was going to have to get off the phone because they are saying he needs to go on the ventilator. He also spoke with my Mom and told her he was feeling better with the oxygen.Â
He told us all he loved us and would see us soon. That was the last time I heard  his voice. I said we love you and was fighting back the tears. I have always thought no news is good news…. In this case it was bad and it went south after they gave him the vent and the remedevisir. Our friend who is an infectious disease Dr tried to help us with vitamin c and they kept making excuses about it was damaging to his kidneys. Â
When I called that night and asked about vitamin c they said it would not be good for Covid and dangerous. I asked them to please help him. He is not your Guinea pig he is my Dad . Please do what ever can save him. The next day when we finally hear from them they said I was a live-wire. Our friend who was trying to help , they threatened to fire. My Dad was 82 but was strong. He fought till the end. On April 13,2020 the day after Easter he passed away . My sister was allowed to be with him when he was dying. She said he was suffering. His heart was the last thing to stop even though they kept saying he was at risk because of his heart. In 2008 he had quadruple bypass. They made excuses because of his heart. I begged to also try hydroxychloroquine. They said it would kill him. At the time we thought it was Covid and nothing else that took him. When we started hearing the same stories of this drug remedevisir We started to wonder if it was a part of something more sinister.
Sorry if this letter is long but I wanted to make sure you knew what happened. Also one other thing I forgot. His brain was donated to help others fight the virus. My Mom and Dad were married 61 1/2 years. She grieves still every day and so do we all. My Dad story was on nbc news the same week he died.Â
His name is Frank Carter and he was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. He loved life and helping others. The world needs more Frank’s.
