My Precious daughter emily who was born with down syndrome healthy vibrant beautiful and smart. Dearly loved by her family and just a little spoiled. She Came down with covid November 2021 Her oxygen level dropped significantly in one day so I took her into emergency at monton medical center in traverse city, michigan. Immediately there was an argument on whether I could stay with her or not, Fortunately I won that argument. She was transferred to a room and put on oxygen. I asked for the monochronal antibody they said it was not protocol I asked for i’ve rebecca they said it was not protocol I asked for the vit c drip And was told it was not protocol. I asked about beudesidine and they said it was not protocol. Everything that was available and known to work. They refused to try my only option. They said was the ventilator. I asked about antibiotics and they said it was not necessary. They never tried to put her on her stomach and they had her very heavily sedated. She came down with a fever. And I was told that the ventilator gave her a bacterial infection in her lungs And that they were filling up with fluid. If they had given her antibiotics that would have headed off the infection. My only option according to the hospital At that point ( Even though she no longer had COVID) was to take her off the ventilator and let her die. There was nothing more they could do according to the Hospital. If they had started a broad spectrum antibiotic as soon as they put her on the ventilator I know she would still be alive today. 2 days after Emily passed away, my husband also died at the same hospital After being admitted with COVID. Because of hospital protocol my family has been wiped out.
